MEET LORI KELLNER
ARCHITECTURE EDUCATION CONSULTANT AND MENTOR
From a very young age, Lori has been captivated by architecture and construction, believing it to be an innate passion. The fascination began as a toddler, watching the Verrazano Bridge being built. As a child, Lori loved drawing, painting, and building structures with Lego blocks. This passion for design was further fueled by countless trips to New York City, where the towering skyscrapers and engineering marvels of the city’s bridges left a lasting impression.
Lori received a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and a Master of Architecture in Urban and Regional Design from NYIT. These degrees provided a comprehensive understanding of architectural principles and urban design. With over 30 years of professional experience in the industry, Lori has worked on diverse projects within the built environment. More recently, she has worked in higher education, focusing on career services and alumni relations for NYIT’s School of Architecture and Design, and is also a volunteer alumni mentor at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture.
In addition to professional work, Lori has always been drawn to education and mentorship. As an architecture mentor and college counselor, she specializes in guiding high school students with a passion for architecture. This includes assistance with portfolio development, scholarship and internship opportunities, and helping students find the right architecture school for their undergraduate and/or graduate studies. The goal is to nurture the next generation of architects by providing expert guidance and support, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic and professional journeys.
